Troubleshooting

Try the fix for your problem below. If it doesn't help, ask on Discord with a screenshot.

Launcher and install#

Windows says "Windows protected your PC". Click More info, then Run anyway. The launcher isn't code-signed, so Windows warns about it.

The download is slow or stops. Close the launcher and open it again. It resumes where it stopped. Pausing other big downloads on your network helps.

Files keep disappearing, or the game won't start. Your antivirus is probably removing game files. Add the Eden folder as an exclusion, then click Verify game files in the launcher. Step-by-step instructions are in Installing & launching.

The launcher says to keep it open. Leave it running while you play. It's carrying your connection to the server.

Starting the game#

The game looks frozen after I press Play. The first start loads a lot of data and can take a few minutes. Wait before closing it.

Stuck on "Connecting to server". Close the game and the launcher, then start again through the launcher. Check the server status at the top of this site. During updates the server is briefly offline.

The game closes right after login. Usually antivirus. See above, then Verify game files.

In game#

My skills stopped working. Type @check. It fixes most stuck-skill states.

A quest won't progress or complete. For Arcane River quests, type @fixquest. For anything else, tell us the quest name on Discord.

I get "You can't repeat the same line" in chat. That's a client rule against spam: you can't send the same message four times in a row. Change the text a little.

My EXP suddenly dropped. Look for a rune on the map. An unused rune curses the map's EXP. See Runes.

The game lags in crowded maps. The client does most of its work on one CPU core, so very busy maps with lots of skill effects can slow it down. Closing other programs, lowering in-game effects and plugging in a laptop all help.

Auto Battle keeps stopping. Check the message in chat. Auto Battle (@ac) lists what each one means.
